About the Procedure

The VisAbility™ Procedure consists of inserting four tiny implants in the white part of your eye (called the sclera). These implants open the space where your focusing muscles are located (called the circumlental space, or “CLS”). By opening the CLS, the implants are designed to help the focusing muscles work better to improve near vision.

Because VisAbility Implants are inserted outside your visual axis on the sclera, they maintain the integrity of your cornea and lens. This allows your surgeon to perform other eye procedures, such as cataract surgery, that may be necessary as you age. And because VisAbility works outside of the visual axis, it is not associated with many of the problems associated with other types of presbyopia-correcting surgeries. If ever desired, the implants can be easily removed from your eye.
